A SEXUALIDADE COMO APELO RETÓRICO NO CINEMA HOLLYWOODIANO NAS DÉCADAS DE 1980 E 1990

RESUMO
A sexualidade exerce um apelo retórico no cinema Hollywoodiano. Nas décadas de 1980 e 1990, nota-se a presença acentuada de elementos sexuais na composição de obras na filmografia dos EUA. Justifica-se a realização deste estudo devido a notável participação da sexualidade como fator responsável pelo reconhecimento dos filmes analisados. Visando esclarecer se há diferenças entre a repercussão obtida através do uso da sexualidade de forma sutil e de forma explícita, este trabalho de conclusão de curso teve como objetivo comprovar o papel significativo da sexualidade no período tratado e apontar sua repercussão através da análise de quatro filmes. Também se utilizou de uma base teórica fundamentada por Olivier Reboul no campo da retórica, Michel Foucault quanto à história da sexualidade e Tim Dirks para a análise fílmica. Percebeu-se relevante evidência do apelo sexual através da história e sua correlação com o apelo retórico.

ABSTRACT
Sexuality exerts a rhetorical appeal in Hollywood motion pictures. In the decades of 1980 and 1990, it is noticed the accentuated presence of sexual elements in the making of film works in the USA. Carrying out this study is justified due to the noticeable participation of sexuality as responsible factor to the recognition of the films analyzed here. Aiming at clarifying whether there are differences between the repercussion obtained through the use of a more subtle form of sexuality and a more explicit one, this course conclusion work had as its goal to prove the significant role played by sexuality in the period of time it covers, as well as to point out its repercussion through the analysis of four films. Also, it was made use of a theoretical base supported by Olivier Reboul in the field of rhetoric, Michel Foucault for the history of sexuality and Tim Dirks for the film analyses. Relevant evidence of the sexual appeal was identified throughout history and its correlation to the rhetorical appeal.
