 ABSTRACT

In order to propose solutions to the problems of urban mobility that Brazil has faced, engineers have increasingly invested in research focused on this area so needy. Knowing this, it becomes necessary to improve public transport, with the goal of providing a means of shifting faster to the population and relieve the traffic, which every day becomes more chaotic. It is known that the physical space of most large centers is saturated, preventing the construction of new roads, because the costs of expropriation would be huge. The purpose of this research is the implementation of "bus rapid transit" in the city of San Luis specifically favoring the stretch between Terminal Praia Grande and the Anjo da Guarda. The model under study combines public transportation bus with an exclusive range of movement, resembling mold displacement of trains. The research is limited to studying only the implementation of BRT in that stretch, but at the same time to motivate the use of this system at other points that need investment.
